High School MPA Clinic Information We are proud to continue to offer a clinic session to bands following their traditional MPA performance and sight-reading. This is the third year we've offered a clinic option and are very excited by the continued success of this format. The 2017 clinician will be determined soon. If you are in the western part of the district you may choose to attend the east site in order to participate in the clinic.
Bands participating in this option will perform and be assessed the same as non-participating bands. A clinician will be observing the group in addition to the adjudicators. The purpose of the clinician is not to judge or assign a rating, but rather observe areas of weakness in order to conduct a 30 minute session with the group following their performance and sight-reading. Clinicians will not rehearse the music that groups just performed, but rather help directors and students develop rehearsal techniques specific to areas of weakness observed in the performance. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your students to receive immediate, practical feedback and have MPA serve as a jumping off point for your continued growth in the future.
